Things to Do in Miracle Mile & Mid-Wilshire
The Miracle Mile stretch of Wilshire Blvd is anchored by what locals call Museum Row, one of the densest concentrations of cultural institutions in any American neighborhood.
LACMA at 5905 Wilshire Blvd is the largest art museum in the western United States, with a permanent collection spanning over 6,000 years and one of the strongest contemporary programs in the country. The outdoor Urban Light installation of 202 vintage street lamps has become one of LA's most photographed public artworks and is free to visit at any hour.
The Petersen Automotive Museum at 6060 Wilshire Blvd is one of the world's premier automotive museums, with an extraordinary collection spanning racing history, Hollywood cars, and rare international marques. The building's flowing steel ribbon facade is a landmark in its own right.
The Original Farmers Market at 6333 W. 3rd St has operated continuously since 1934. The indoor market is a genuine neighborhood institution with dozens of stalls, food vendors, and a vibe that has not changed much in decades. It connects directly to The Grove, one of LA's most popular outdoor shopping and dining destinations.
Larchmont Village, a short walk south of Melrose Ave, is a small neighborhood commercial strip with an old-LA feel, independent restaurants, a bookshop, a wine bar, and a Saturday morning farmers market. One of the most walkable and pleasant blocks in the Miracle Mile area.
